Privacy policy

The Board is a private planner for home-schooling families. It is run by the administrator of this site for the households they invite. This page explains what The Board stores about you, why, and what you can ask for.
What we store
- Your name and e-mail address, as the administrator added them, and your role (administrator, parent or child).
- From Google, when you sign in: your e-mail address, your name and a Google account number that lets The Board recognise you next time.
- The avatar you picked and your language choice.
- What your family enters to plan the school week: school times and breaks, terms, subjects and weekly hours, and each child's schedule.
- When you last signed in.
The Board never sees your Google password, and it does not ask Google for anything else, such as your contacts, files or calendar.
Why we store it
Only to run The Board: to let the people on its list sign in, to show each household its own school week, and to remember your settings. Your information is not used for advertising, profiling or anything else.
Cookies
- A session cookie keeps you signed in. It ends when you sign out, or after a period without use.
- A language cookie remembers the language you chose on the sign-in page.
- Your choice of light or dark mode is kept in your own browser, not on the server.
There are no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.
Who can see it
Your information is kept on this site's own server and is not sold or shared. Within The Board, the parents in a household can see that household's planning and their children's schedules, a child sees their own schedule, and the administrator manages the households and their members.
Signing in is done by Google, and Google's own privacy policy applies to that part: policies.google.com/privacy.
Children
Children's accounts are added by the administrator for their parents. A child's account holds only their name, e-mail address, avatar, language choice and their schedule. Parents can ask for a child's information to be corrected or removed at any time.
How long we keep it, and your choices
Your information is kept for as long as your household uses The Board. You can ask to see, correct or delete the information about you or your children; deleting an account also deletes its schedules.
Security
The Board is only reachable over a secure (HTTPS) connection, signing in goes through Google, and each household can see only its own information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date.
